Fee Earner Profile - Debbie Harrison
Debbie Harrison is an experienced Crown Court Practitioner
whose work over the last twenty years has been primarily
in respect of serious offences including murder, manslaughter,
conspiracies in respect of drugs, firearms and rape.
She has a wealth of experience and has dealt with matters
from beginning to end dealing with all issues appertaining
to such cases.
She is a highly respected practitioner both amongst her
peers and clients alike. Hard work and dedication to her
clients are hallmarks of her professional reputation.
Her eye for detail, meticulous preparation, together with
zest, energy and exuberance has secured the outstanding
results that she has been able to achieve.
Selection of Recent Cases:-
R-v- Q - Rape - Harrow Crown Court - 2006 - As
a result of persistent requests for undisclosed material
and meticulous preparation, information was revealed that
led to the case being discontinued by the Prosecution
3 days pre trial. Complimented by London Counsel on "the
outstanding attention to detail in preparation" of
the case.
R-v- D - Rape - Minshull Street Crown court - 2007
- Defendant man of previous good character. The persistent
and meticulous attention to detail again resulting in
information being revealed by way of undisclosed material,
resulting in the Prosecution discontinuing the case mid-trial.
R-v- Z - 5 handed Robbery -Bolton Crown Court -
2007 - Defendant had a previous conviction for robbery
x 2. Mid-trial a statement obtained by Debbie from a witness
refuting evidence given on oath by the complainant, led
to the discharge of the proceedings.
R- O - Attempt murder - Bradford Crown Court -
extremely serious allegation of pre-meditated attack.
Following extensive research of the complainant in the
case and their history which assisted in undermining the
Prosecution case, a lesser charge was preferred. Following
extensive mitigation the defendant received a custodial
sentence of 3 years.
R-v- X - Minshull Street Crown Court on - 2007
- 17 Count Indictment relating to Witness intimidation;
Assault; Threats to kill; Perverting the course of justice;
Harassment; False Imprisonment; Robbery; and Rape. The
case was meticulously and arduously prepared by Debbie
following which the jury returned not guilty verdicts
on all substantive matters.
R-v- R - Peterborough Crown Court - Arson - Case
involving forensic analysis by DNA. Extensive investigative
enquiries resulted in the Prosecution offering no evidence
and the case being dismissed.
R-v- D - Court of Appeal London - 2008 - Causing
Death by Dangerous Driving. Following the instruction
of several experts to deal with issues in this case which
had never previously been addressed, the conviction was
quashed.
R-v- F - Rape - Minshull Street Crown Court - 2007
- Again material that was undisclosed by the Crown was
applied for within the proceedings by the defence, resulting
in a discontinuance of the case on the day of trial.
